About

We're here to make Shabbat something you want to try.

ILoveShabbat is a simple idea that grew fast: ask people to keep one Shabbat, celebrate everyone who does, and make it feel like something you're joining rather than something you're being told to do.

How it started

It began with a small group of friends and one question: what would happen if keeping Shabbat felt exciting instead of heavy? We put up a giveaway, asked people to commit to a single Shabbat, and expected a few dozen entries.

Thousands came. Since then, 10,307 different people have committed to keep Shabbat with us — people who keep every week, people who had never kept one in their lives, and everyone in between.

What we believe

Shabbat isn't all-or-nothing. Someone who puts their phone away for twenty-five hours for the first time did something real, and it deserves to be celebrated the same way as anything else.

No guilt. No pressure. No test to pass and no background you need to have. If you're Jewish and you're curious, you're already in.

And the prizes are the smallest part of it. The reason we do this is what happens at the table on Friday night, in homes where that table hadn't been set in years.

Who's behind it

ILoveShabbat is run by a small volunteer team, funded by sponsors and donors so that entering is always free. Prizes are purchased and shipped by us — never resold, never sponsored in exchange for coverage.

Want to sponsor a Shabbat or help with a giveaway? We'd love to hear from you.
